Wexford County
is a lovely place for those who are looking to get out of the speeding highway that modern life can be sometimes and
want to relax and enjoy the lovely landscape and weather.
Those looking for clean air and the taste of some outdoors holidays feel at home in Wexford.
In particular, those looking to feel warm touch of the golden sand can really thrive on the over 115 kilometres of beautiful coastlines.
The lovely beaches have long been the delight of both singles and couples looking to escape the noisy intrusion of the city or just
simply to get an opportunity to wear their
Princess Leia costumes
in public. The fact stands: whatever the reason, as long as you
enjoy the sun, the rocking waves and the warm sand you can't go wrong in Wexford.

With so many
different beaches
catering to different styles and needs, we've decided to give you the rundown of Wexford most
popular beaches. There is quite a bit of variety here and, as long as you like the sun and the waves, you are sure to find something
that will cater to your tastes.

Clones Strand: Lovely beach that is next to the village of Castletown. Stylish holiday homes and caravan parks surround the beach,
increasing its popularity and making it even more accessible to tourists.

Kilmichael Strand: Located after Clones Strand, this is a long beach easily recognizable by the borough made of mini hills and
valleys that runs alongside it. A popular spot for fishermen, it also offers great vantage points for those that want to have a picnic
next to an excellent view.

Kilpatrick Beach: Found next to Kilmichael Strand, the beach is filled with soft dunes that are wonderful for a day out with the
family. Also known by the locals for the number of rare shells and sea stones that can be found on the shore, a lot of kids will have a
blast exploring and collecting things.

Cahore Beach: Framed by its pier at one end, the pebbled beach is a busy spot for those looking for some excitement. Not a place
to wear your
fancy dress
at, the place is nonetheless very popular for boating and other water sports. The security is very good,
with an in-shore lifeboat and a
lifeguard
station nearby.

North Courtown: A timeless crowd puller, this one is a
favourite of families and those looking to enjoy some water sports (under the
watch of the lifeguard station.) You can find a borough alongside it and beautiful woodlands, both great for walking and having a
picnic.

Morriscastle: Serving the village of Kilmuckridge, the Golden Mile (as it's often called because of its length) is a natural bay that
extends for three miles. Sheltered thanks to its grassy sand dunes, the beach also enjoys parking and public toilets which make it
excellent for spending the whole day sun bathing.
