Wexford on the Go

Wexford looks at the ocean from the East coast of Ireland. A vibrant town of proud natives and a certain exuberance and
gusto for life that defies the typical Irish stereotype, it's certainly a charming place and a definite stop for any traveller in
the islands. Wexford has always been  relevant to Irish history and for centuries was an attractive target for many
invaders because of its strategic position. Nowadays we see the result of its past as a port city target of many foreign
armies in the cosmopolitan spirit that permeates the city. No more enemies on the horizon for Wexford but many tourists
that come to enjoy the lovely buildings, clean streets (litter free according to the authorities), friendly locals and the world
 famous
Festival Opera.
 Things to see
Romanesque architecture is the order of the day in this city and most buildings are of a
 religious nature.
The many churches include breathtaking buildings like St. Iberius Church and the twin
churches of Rowe and Bride Street (the former being the most interesting because of
 the better preserved surroundings.)
The streets themselves, winding serpents of Viking origin, are very particular and well
 deserving of exploration.
Also of historical value are the ruins of Selskar Abbey and the Westgate tower nearby.
Both are surviving children of Irish history that date to the beginning of the 13th
 century.

The wonderful architecture will amaze you.
